Kelli commenced her career as a midwife as one of the first bachelor of midwifery students in Australia. Studying at Victoria uni, Kelli and 52 other trailblazers were to become the new breed of midwives. Her career has covered many aspects of midwifery including working as a private practicing midwife where she gained Medicare eligibility, providing home birth and postnatal home visiting services, creating two private midwifery clinics to working in large metropolitan hospitals as a clinical midwife.

Kelli became an educator of midwives at Canberra University and has gone onto working in Australia’s first postnatal hotel. Her career within midwifery has spanned over 25 years. Her first book, "Midwife Crisis", is based on her career. This book offers an intimate look at the highs and lows of a career dedicated to bringing life into the world.
