Monday morning live with Natasa Denman featuring one of her very inspiring authors, Kathleen Browne.
Kathleen is a published author and a dedicated parent of a child with a disability. In 2024, she released her book, The Unique Parent Club, where she guides readers through her extraordinary journey as a parent of a child with special needs.
In her book, Kathleen candidly shares the challenges she faced, the struggles she endured, and the strength she gained along the way. Despite these hurdles, she completed a Bachelor of Social Work, moved countries twice, and learned to advocate and support her son effectively.
Her story is one of resilience and empowerment. Today, Kathleen joins us to share her journey and insights, as well as her plans to speak at the World Down Syndrome Conference in Brisbane next month. Her experiences and wisdom continue to inspire and support many families navigating similar paths.
Three takeaways:
1. Recognise your Resilience: Discover how parents of special needs children turn challenges into opportunities for personal and familial strength.
2. Everyday Realities: Gain insight into the daily experiences, struggles, and triumphs that shape the lives of special needs families.
3. Support and Advocacy: Learn about the critical role of community support, resources, and advocacy in empowering special needs parents and their children.
